Absolutely! Since its inception in 2004, the TravelScoot was designed specifically for airline travel. The TravelScoot Escape is airline-compliant and can be checked as mobility equipment at no extra charge. Its lightweight lithium-ion battery (AirSafe) meets TSA and FAA requirements for air travel. Many customers successfully bring their scooters on domestic and international flights. We recommend following our airline guides (by airline) for the most up-to-date policies.
The TravelScoot Escape weighs 33 lbs including the battery — making it the lightest full-capacity mobility scooter in the world. It’s easy to lift, transport, and store, even without assistance. The heaviest component of the scooter is the frame at a mere 22 lbs!
The TravelScoot Escape supports riders up to 500 lbs. For warranty purposes, the official limit is 350 lbs, but the scooter has been engineered to handle greater loads with stability and strength. With it's patented "yoke", the TravelScoot has a three-point strength system which is stronger than virtually every other 3-wheeled mobility scooter.
The TravelScoot Escape has a 90-degree turn radius to the left and the right to make those tight turns in hallways, elevators, etc.
You sure can! The TravelScoot is cruise-approved and ideal for navigating ship decks, ramps, and excursions. It folds compactly and fits into all staterooms, and is commonly used by passengers on Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, and other major cruise lines. The TravelScoot is also tender-approved. Click here for our cruise guide for helpful tips on how to cruise with a mobility scooter.
The AirSafe lithium-ion battery provides up to 12-15 miles of range per charge. An additional battery (see our H-brackets) or our Long-Ranger, non-air travel battery are available and can double your travel distance, giving you up to 24 miles before needing a recharge. Many report that they are able to go all day at Disney on a single charge. Keep in mind that terrain, inclines, and rider weight will affect your distance travelled. The TravelScoot folds in under 10 seconds — no tools required. It’s designed for simplicity: just remove the seat with the quick-release lever clamp then engage the easy-to-use folding mechanism, and it’s ready for a car trunk, closet, or overhead bin (depending on the airline). Watch this demo to learn how.
No matter where you're located, we’ve got you covered. TravelScoot USA sells replacement parts for every component of the scooter — from throttles and controllers to frames and wheels. Even better, every part we sell includes a step-by-step instructional video directly on the product page, showing you exactly how to install it. The TravelScoot was designed with simplicity and durability in mind, so most repairs can be done easily at home with minimal tools. If you ever need help, our team is just a phone call away.
We offer a 14-day return policy from the date of delivery for standard purchases. If you decide to return your TravelScoot, it must be in new, unused condition and returned in the original box with all original packaging and materials. There is a $100 shipping charge and a 5% restocking fee.
