Is the TravelScoot Safe for Me? ▼
The TravelScoot is designed for users with good upper-body strength, balance, and mobility. It is not recommended for individuals who require full-time mobility assistance. For safety guidelines, please refer to our Instruction Manual.
How Long Does the Battery Last? ▼

Can I Use Insurance to Pay for the TravelScoot? ▼
While most private insurance companies and Medicare don’t typically cover the TravelScoot, it never hurts to ask. Some customers have submitted claims and been partially reimbursed using the medical billing code K0899, which stands for:
K0899 – Power Mobility Device, Not Otherwise Classified
If you'd like to try, we’re happy to provide an invoice that includes this code. Just contact us after your purchase and we’ll prepare the documentation for you. Please note: we are not enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, and do not bill insurance companies directly.
Do You Offer Rentals? ▼
At this time, we do not offer mobility scooter rentals. All of our TravelScoot units are sold new. However, if you're unsure whether it’s right for you, consider our low-risk 3-day in-home trial program.
Is Financing or a Payment Plan Available? ▼
Yes! We offer easy payment options at checkout. Just choose "Pay Later" and follow the prompts. It's a great way to break up your purchase into manageable monthly payments.
Do You Sell Used TravelScoots? ▼
We only sell new TravelScoot scooters directly. However, if you’re looking to buy or sell a used model, we highly recommend joining the TravelScoot Community Facebook Group.
What Maintenance Is Required? ▼
We recommend routine maintenance every six months to keep your TravelScoot running smoothly. If you own the discontinued HD Deluxe model, click here for video tutorials and maintenance tips specific to your scooter.
Can the TravelScoot Be Used Off-Road? ▼
The TravelScoot Escape is ideal for light off-road use, including dry grass, hard-packed gravel, and uneven sidewalks. It can handle inclines of up to 15%. For extra comfort on bumpy surfaces, we recommend the suspension seat post. Compared to the Cruiser, the Escape has wider tires and better traction for outdoor terrain.
Does the TravelScoot Have a Key or Locking System? ▼
No key is included, and here’s why: since the TravelScoot is extremely lightweight, a key wouldn’t prevent theft. Instead, we recommend using a cable-style bicycle lock through the rear forks when leaving it unattended in public places.
Is It Safe to Use the TravelScoot in the Rain? ▼
While we don’t recommend riding in the rain on purpose, we understand that weather can be unpredictable. The TravelScoot will function in wet conditions, but it's important to dry it off afterward. Carry a plastic bag to protect the battery connector and power switch in case of a downpour. If it gets soaked, dry it thoroughly and store it in a warm, dry area. Avoid leaving it in damp locations like car trunks or basements.
