Product Overview

The TravelScoot mobility scooter's flat footplates provide comfortable support for riders who can not bend their knees (e.g. rigidity or leg in a cast, etc.) or have particular issues with their feet. The support plates are installed by sliding them over the footrests (lubrication included)– no tools required. Wipe lubrication as needed for the perfect fit. The Flat Footplates rotate over the footpegs so as to adapt automatically to the rider’s leg angle.

    More Surface Area

Posted by Holly Carson on 21st Mar 2024

These foot plates installed so easily. They really provide more surface area for my feet. It gives me a better sense of security to know that my left foot, that is partially disabled from a stroke, is planted on something flat. I can scoot without worrying about it.

The tunes on the foot plates.

The tubs on the foot plates are to big. They come off to easily. I like the idea do you have any ideas to help prevent them from sliding off.

    Flat Footplates

Great idea but could use better engineering. Footplates did not come with lube for installation as advertised, but with a little spit and hand pressure got they installed. Once installed I found that the foot pegs would no longer fold all the way vertical. This is an issue for me because of the small area the Scoot needs to fit in the back of my hot rod. If the plates were designed to fit within the raised end rings of the standard rubber peg boots then the plates would fold flat. I was able to cut the plates down to fit, but since they are only welded on the ends of the tube to plate when you shorten the plates you cut one of the welds off. I TIG weld aluminum so it wasn’t a problem to reweld but this rework would not be possible for the average TravelScoot owner. All in all not the best or most well thought out TravelScoot accessory. But do they work? Absolutely! My feet are much more comfortable especially after my first full day on the Scoot.

Flat Footplates feature functionality for all!

Posted by Sarah from Oklahoma on 17th Dec 2022

These are another “instant upgrade” I make to every one of my TravelScoots, and once you ride with them, you will see why. The fold up foot pegs that function as a footrest for the TravelScoot are substantial, and certainly get the job done; they are set at a good spot for most of us, and are a good width for nearly all riders. But some of us have issues brought on by age, disease, disability or some combination of the three. The Flat Footplates are important to me, because I have so much arthritis in my feet. Using the standard equipment pegs causes more pain across the soles of my feet, where they rest on the pegs. Installing the Flat Footplates gives me a large, even, adjustable surface; I can ride with them in a horizontal position, or with very little effort, I can set them to any angle I want. I can even use them to extend my leg(s) and support the back of my legs at any angle needed when riding or sitting for a long time. With a good pair of rubber-soles shoes, my feet don’t slip off, even on rainy days. And of course, the Footplates still fold up and out of the way if needed. Installation is fairly simple; if you have arthritis in your hands as I do, grab any nearby human who does not, and they should be able to slide them into place for you! The Flat Footplates are easy to install, and use, but add so much comfort to your riding experience. Highly recommend!
